Open Water Training
For this course we are going to use the same location for all three dives.
Training Dive One – Depth Range 6 to 12 mtrs
With equipment on, and pre dive safety check carried out, we enter the water just as the light begins to fade.
We carry out an underwater tour of the area, to demonstrate how we communicate with hand signals and dive lights whilst night diving. We also to need to demonstrate the proper use of a personal dive light, submersible pressure gauge, compass, timing device and depth gauge at night.
We have only one exercise to conduct; to navigate to a pre-determined location, using compass, and return to within 8mtrs of the starting point.
Training Dive Two – Depth Range 6 to 12 mtrs
With our equipment on and pre-dive safety check carried out we enter the water and swim out to our surface buoy. Before descending down the line we take a compass heading back to the shore, and then conduct a descent down the line, and once at the bottom carry another tour of the immediate area. We bring into practice the skills from the first dive, and enjoy the dive. The underwater tour ends back at the bottom of the line from where you will navigate using the compass, back to the shore.
Training Dive Three – Depth Range 6 to 12 mtrs
With our equipment on and pre-dive safety check carried out we enter the water and swim out to our surface buoy. We carry out a free descent, and once at the bottom we will carry out a 3 minute lights out exercise, and if we’re lucky we might be able to see the bio-luminance.
With this simple exercise over, it’s over to you to conduct your own underwater tour, returning to the shore before entering your reserve air limit.
