You have ‘clicked’ on this page to learn about who we are, and are maybe expecting the usual stories of ‘how we’ve been diving since an early age and have always wanted to start our own dive school’ or maybe ‘the idea came to us over a pint down the pub’. Unfortunately not!
The reason West Country Divers was created was to provide something unique for divers and aspiring divers alike. If you want to learn how to dive, then you’ll see that there are plenty of good dive schools around. And if you have your own dive kit, it’s not hard to find a good club to dive with. But what about an environment where great training and a great club atmosphere come together? Where you can earn your first dive certificate, and carry on diving, regularly, using good quality, well maintained dive equipment, in a friendly and non-political atmosphere, where good advice, training, and exhilarating diving are regular and accessible. West Country Divers is a fusion of the great training offered by a commercial dive school, and the friendly, social and adventurous elements of a dive club.
West Country Divers – Making Diving Accessible For All

The people who make up West Country Divers are its greatest asset, and you’ll see these qualities in the group of instructors, and certified assistants that make up our team. You’ll see these same faces whether you’re training with us, or enjoying some fun dives with the club.
We offer courses exclusively from PADI. As the world’s largest diver certifying agency, we believe that PADI training offers safe and proven courses, and they’re fun too! And when you sign up for a course with West Country Divers, be assured that not only will we supply you with the most up-to-date course manuals and DVDs, but also the most comprehensive. We don’t scrimp on your learning materials; if it makes your learning experience easier, safer and fun, then we want you to have it!
HSE – Just the thought of those three letters can send a shiver down your spine, but here at West Country Divers we fully embrace the HSE’s ‘Diving at work regulations’. Diving can be hazardous, so rules, procedures and safety are very important. Therefore when you undertake a course with us, you can be confident that we are taking your health and safety very seriously.
